Monica Conn Hill
Paperback
(Bowker, June 6, 2019)
This 32 page workbook was created for all children . It's purpose is to help each child develop positive self-image, writing skills, social skills and to communicate effectively. Fifteen languages and sign language letters are shown in this book. It also contains the earliest writing form known as hieroglyphics. The use of technology is encouraged to provide phonics for words and animal sounds. The activities inside include writing, counting, drawing, spelling, coloring, tracing, movement and creating. Social skills such as silent gestures, how to be courteous, and times to be quiet are modeled also. Upon completion a child should be able to identify and spell body parts and recognize animals that live in cities, the country or the jungle. A personal narrative form is provided as a reward for completion. It can be put on display so that a child feels a sense of accomplishment. This book can be used as supplemental material for teachers and parents. When used to measure the growth and progress of a child during a school year, it is recommended that it be completed at the beginning of the year and again at the end. The activities inside can also be integrated with History, Spelling, Writing, Math, Science and Geography lessons.
